Dear Parents and Players,

Welcome to a new season of soccer! We hope that your children will enjoy themselves and learn the game along the way. We have over 250 kids this season!

As in past years, you must provide shin guards and shoes that must be worn at practice and games the league will provide the uniform shirt, shorts and socks. Gym shoes can be worn and cleats can not have a toe cleat. No jewelry will be allowed the only exception will be Medic alert and they will have to be taped down so any piercing should wait until after the season ends.

Games will start late march first four will be in Mt. Vernon the last four in Aurora. During the games, players and coaches will be on one side of the field and parents will be on the other, and no one is allowed to sit at the goal ends except one coach in U6 and U8 games. Thank you for your cooperation in this area.

Tentative Picture dates are set for the last game in Mt. Vernon and the first game in Aurora you coach will give you the final instructions when picture packets are handed out.

We ask that parents and coaches to help keep the kids from hanging on the goals during practices and games for the safety of the kids and the care of the equipment. We also ask you to park in proper areas and not to drive on the fields.

We will have the code of conduct forms again this season. They must be signed and turned in before players will be allowed to play.

Rain outs will be the same this season. The first two games will not be made up, after that will be made up. We are hoping to get at least 6 games in and if the weather cooperates we’ll have 8.

The LCYSA is a recreational league therefore there is a 5 goal rule. The mercy rule will remain the same this season as well any team up by 5 goals will have to either move the top goal scorer or scorers to defense not to cross mid field or remove them form play until the other team scores.

Please show good sportsmanship towards the other team, and league officials any problems you may have can be brought up with any board member, forms will be available at the concession stand and board members will be at the games and most practices.

Please volunteer. To keep costs down we ask each child bring two 2-liter bottles of soda. U6–Coke, Diet Coke and Sprite, U8-Dr. Pepper and diet Dr. Pepper, U10-Pepsi and Diet Pepsi, U13-Mt. Dew and Diet Mt. Dew, U17-Root beer and Orange.

We have hired concession workers for this for this season on a trial basis to see how it works out so coaches don’t need to find parents for this, but we can always use help in other ways.
